You can see ice inside a cave a short way from the resort, after a short walk through the forest.
About the place
Water seeping through the cave roof freezes in winter into ice stalactites and stalagmites, which melt in late spring or summer, according to visitharghita.com. You can feel the cold air at the entrance. The cave is about 60 m long, but only the entrance area can be visited, according to Wikipedia. It has no lighting.
The trail starts at the edge of the resort and runs through the forest on the red-cross marking, past Izvorul Străvechi (the Old Spring), where there is a mofette giving off carbon dioxide. The cave belongs to the Scaunul Rotund reserve, like Grota Urșilor.
