It is the place for a stroll in the centre of the resort, with Stânca Șoimilor above it.
About the place
The lake was laid out around 1900 in a backwater of the Olt, and visitors went boating on it. In 1928 it became a bathing area, with an entertainment spot on the north shore, according to Hungarian Wikipedia. Today paths run all around it and a wooden pavilion stands on the water.
On the shore is the Wellness Tușnad centre, opened in December 2013, with a swimming pool, a thermal-water pool, a jacuzzi, saunas and a salt room. Stânca Șoimilor rises above the lake, and the bridge over the Olt next to it is the starting point for the walk to the mofette.
